Remote's team reached out to us, full of excitement after completing a rewarding rebranding process meticulously crafted without constraints by the branding masters at Design Studio. They needed an equally robust and exciting digital extension, and the website was entrusted to us at Büro. No sweat—that’s what we do best.
Remote's vibrant new visual language presented many layers to manage and give meaning to: from rich 3D patterns designed for motion graphics, a wide color palette, and eight distinct 2D key shapes (derived from the globes' 3D patterns) to expressive, personality-filled illustrations. This might seem like a lot for one website, but we found a way to balance it all—assigning specific colors and globe patterns to each major section. This gave the homepage a distinct visual narrative, clearly separating normal content from more experience-driven sections. Grounded in a complex design system and elevated by cutting-edge WebGL globes leading the narrative, the website uniquely showcased Remote’s offerings like no other.
However, things took a turn when the website, designed under Remote's Design Team supervision, didn't quite align with the Marketing Team's vision. Concerned that the interactive, engaging elements might overshadow key calls to action and overall reading, they opted for a more subdued, vanilla approach—stripping away all the more dynamic features we had crafted to make the experience and product stand out.
We've all been there—the thrill of crafting a disruptive rebranding and website for a product, fueled by the high hopes and complexities of development. Everything finally falls into place, only for latecomers with a different vision to step in, unraveling the work. Alas, this one sank into quicksand, ending up as a much-reduced version of what we delivered. And now, over to Tom with the weather.

Website
Remote's vibrant new visual language seamlessly extends into the website experience through three core elements: a rich 3D pattern made of key shapes, expressive, personality-filled illustrations, and photography masked by eight distinct key shapes.
The globes, as the centerpiece of Remote's visual language, were key to the storytelling, and we spent months on R&D for WebGL globes to seamlessly translate this into the website, with both design teams meticulously collaborating to extend the new brand digitally. Despite the overall design system and website sections moving forward, the more dynamic modules didn’t make the cut—not even the 404 Martian globe, left frozen in a single frame. A missed opportunity, to say the least.
It’s rare for a product website to truly break new ground, even with the best intentions. Most end up as copies of the same model, facing countless challenges and resource constraints. Delivering this project with Remote’s design team was incredibly fun, but in the end, we realized we’d been solving the wrong problem without everyone fully on board.
A bold new brand language deserves an equally powerful website.
Motion & WebGL
After a whirlwind of R&D, we built the WebGL globes on our website entirely in-browser, integrating math directly into the experience. These aren’t static assets or videos—they’re crisp, interactive elements that elevate the narrative.
Each globe has its own color and pattern, representing a section of the website. They dynamically react as you scroll, blending functionality with a clear presentation of the product features. The visuals stay sharp without compromising performance, creating a vibrant, engaging digital experience that continues to impress Remote’s audience—and us—every time.
We also developed a custom brand tool to allow dynamic changes to shapes, patterns, and colors. This tool drives the scrolling narrative for each main section and can adapt to new needs as they arise.
The animations and illustrations were created by Remote's team, under our guidance.
When we decided to revamp the Remote website, the first agency that came to mind was Bürocratik. Their cutting-edge designs are always innovative while effortlessly incorporating motion and creating a unique fingerprint for our complex and extensive website. I highly recommend Bürocratik to companies seeking to take their online presence to the next level. Thank you, Büro team.
